It all starts with one question: what actually happened to your father. You set out to find the answer, and halfway through the journey an accident throws you off course. Afterwards a decent chunk of your memory is missing, and you have to move to another city without knowing what waits for you there.

In the second season the pieces come together and you are reunited with your father. By then you have met a great many people, and some of those acquaintances have long since turned into something else. Eleven women run through the story, each with her own history and her own interests, and none of them is set dressing.

As storytelling it is a mystery with real turns, not a loose string of scenes. That is exactly why it works: because you want to know how it ends, you stay with it, and the quieter moments in between gain weight as a result.
