You play Rockford, an assistant district attorney with a career everyone envies. The cost sits on the other side of the ledger: you always wanted a family, but closeness was never your strong suit, and that has got in your way every single time so far.

Then a murder case lands on your desk, and through that case you stumble onto a father you never knew existed. From there two things run in parallel: the investigation you want to see through properly, and a question about where you come from that will not be pushed aside any longer.

Four women shape the road there, and none of them is decoration: a homicide detective you have history with, your childhood friend who is now a prosecutor herself, a career soldier, and an instructor whose connection to your past only surfaces gradually.
