Lisa Harrison is dead, and the circumstances make no sense from any angle. She used to be your girlfriend, so the thing will not let you go. What starts as asking around among old acquaintances leads you into a corner of the world you had no idea existed: a society of supernatural beings that has been living among people all along.

Some of them match exactly what the legends say. Others not at all, and that is the part that gets interesting. The tone stays pleasantly loose throughout, the game leans on comedy between the steps of the investigation and never takes itself too seriously.

Two things lift Mythos above the pile. First, you can play the lead as male or female, which is rare in this genre and noticeably changes the conversations. Second, the game commits you to nothing where relationships are concerned: focus on one person, run several threads at once, or keep out of it entirely and just solve the case.
